Incorporating Tartan into your Wedding

Reading Time:

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue? How about something tartan to really make your wedding day special!

There are lots of ways to add a touch of Scottish heritage to your wedding. The most obvious is a kilt and tartan waistcoat for the groom, although why stop there? Once you know what tartan print you’re incorporating into your wedding, you can add hints of it everywhere to give a proper Scottish theme to your day.

Start to set the scene before your wedding day even arrives, by including some of the tartan material in the design of your invitations. You can continue this theme on the day by using the material in your seating plan, place settings or even as table runners. Tartan ribbon can be tied around your bouquet and will also add a touch of class to a white wedding cake.

One local business that can satisfy all your tartan needs is Harris Kilt Company. Harris Kilts have been exhibiting at our wedding fairs for years. If you’ve been to one of our events, you won’t have missed Grahame Harris, he’s the one always dressed as a Scottish Highland Bagpiper, playing the bagpipes outside the venue. He’s also one-half of Harris Kilts Company.
